    See, I don't find that "annoying" but I am going through a long ol' workaholic phase (before kids mean I can't!).

    When I used to work in the yard, me and a mate used to have a "race to 80" each week - the first to work 80 hours would win, and would buy the other a full slap up english brekkie. In season we'd work 6am till 8pm Monday - Friday and pull Saturday and often Sunday too. We have been reassured many times since that this was highly illegal, but didn't particularly care.

    This week, I had Mon - Weds annual leave to finish an essay for uni. I went to our Leicester office Monday as the VoIP server needed rebooted, and covered at home from 6am Tues and Weds caus we're short of cover.

    I'm going down to London tomorrow afternoon to start work 5am till when I finish Sunday, same Monday.

    I. Absolutely. Love. It.

    Sleep is for other people :biggrin

    Wow thats work then sleep and not much else! Just over 80's been my worst week but I average 60 hours this year (40 work 20 study)

    money grabbing politicians annoy me, people on the morning radio stations who think there funny when they are no were near it! (can you tell im not a morning person) :)

    People getting handed jobs in companies on a plate because of family/contacts etc and not skill or interview performance.

    Jobs being advertised externally only to be given to internal candidates (why bother to advertise then?)

    Websites with a script that won't allow you to click the back button... grr!

    People calling me stingey just because i'm trying to save up to buy my own home, though sadly looking at my reduandancy letter anyway :(

    Sorry to hear about your redundancy matey :(

    In answer to the job advertising though, I believe it is a legal requirement to externally advertise any vacancy, regardless of whether they already know who they want to fill the role internally. Which bites.

    It happens. And it'll happen to you someday, if you have career aspirations and there's no positions open for advancement.

    Good managers understand that good people tend to move on; you can't keep them in the same position year after year after year. ALL of my past supervisors wished me well when I moved on and extended an open invitation to return. In fact, I've worked with two supervisors twice and with one supervisor three times, each time in a more senior capacity.

    Right now, studying for Windows 7 betas is annoying me, and wondering if I should bin them and concentrate on getting my MCSE (which is linked to my bonus this year) :cry:

    Evesham servers. Yes, some of them still exist. Sadly for us, one less of them than last week - and I can't get the budget to replace the other one that still survives until next year - so am currently absolutely bricking myself that it is going to go South and take a mission-critical service with it.

    So, I guess I should add 'bean counters' to the list... :x
