No, being a member of the family and all, and the fact that my income doesn't compare at all to theirs, about £50 - £60(I suppose I have it fairly easy..) They say it will scale depending on how much I earn and stay living at home.

So you pay a tenth of the going rate, yet still find something to moan about? You've got a bell of a lot of growing up to do

Well, I'm not moaning about the price, I'm moaning about the lack of privacy that one should have...

Would you like it if you were paying ££ (it shouldn't even happen if you paid nothing) and someone went through your things? I thought not.

Those poxy vuvuzela things at the world cup. They're not 'colourful', they're not 'fun', they're just a continuously annoying poxy drone that completely destroys any real atmosphere at the games.

I was in a bar yesterday watching the England match (after passing the 70-291 :biggrin). The bar was packed out, someone had brought a vuvuzela in to the bar and started blowing it.

Before you knew it everyone wanted to have a go at playing it. The vuvuzela got passed around the entire bar and when someone managed to get a decent prolonged hum out of it they were met with cheers and applause. I could hardly get a note out of thing, tough to do! I want to get one though, they're great fun!

Everyone thought it was great fun and added to the atmosphere in the bar. However I do agree that they seem to be drowning out the atmosphere in the stadium. Banned from grounds? I disagree. It boils down more to the individual and using the vuvuzela responsibly.

"My house, my rules, you don't like them move out".. which is what I will be saying to my son when he turns 18.

If you don't like the rules move out, then discover that you really did have it way too easy at home.

Her house... her rules. Her reduced price is attached to the increased rules. If you don't like those rules, you can always find a better arrangement with more privacy... and pay for that privilege. It's as simple as that.

Never forget... you are in control of you. If you don't like where you live, move. If you can't afford it, make more money so you can. If you don't like your employer, find a better one. If they're not paying you enough money, find an employer that will.

I promise you, living on your own for a while is a sure-fire way to give you a whole new respect for what your parents do for you. If that doesn't do it, having your own kids certainly will.

Oh, yes, back on topic of what annoys me: whiny kids who think they deserve things just because they exist. :dry

A better arrangement for privacy eh? Well, I already do most of the chores, pay rent! I suppose I could give them more money for something I should have! Oh wait, they already insisted they have access to all my money. Even having a lock on my door is forbidden!

Oh, you make it sound so easy! But coming from someone of your age, I probably should have expected that.

Been there, done that. I enjoyed it very much! God I love it when my parents go on long holidays(I was on my *own*)... Though it did take a bit of persuading to have them go without me! Thats overprotective parents who aren't willing to let their children become independent grown up then isn't?

Kids? Not until I'm financially stable and actually have enough money to give them a decent upbringing. Rest assured, they won't have overprotective parents like mine and many other people my age.

Sorry, but overprotective, stubborn and selfish parents do more harm than good. End of.

Edit: What annoys me? Old people.

    What annoys me? Young people.

I'm 26 years old and I find myself desperately trying to seperate myself from anyone who counts themself as a 'young person'. I never thought I'd find myself so desperate to be counted as 'old' just so I don't get dumped in with the whiny, snivelling wastes of space that are our nations youth.

Len, for the record, living on your own and having the house to yourself because your parents went on holiday are two very different things. Even if they went for 6 months it still would not be the same as living anywhere else.

Question: why are your parents over protective? Please think about your answer, don't just whine.

Its funny. I've asked them that so many times, yet never get an answer.

Looking back, I try to think what I've done wrong!

Im a single child? Possible? but still....
I was a quiet child when younger! And I still am apparently!
I did my homework on time
    I got good grades
    I pick(ed) my friends sensibly
    I don't drink
I don't go causing trouble around any area
I do what my parents tell me to do without question
    who ****ing knows?
