I have not theen the traveller for many dayth. I pray thee hath not fallen foul of the beasts and become an unbeknownst victim. I have theen a glint in the barkeeperth eye not a few nightth ago when the traveller wath latht theen. It mutht be the barkeeper.

Worl, that's certainly a turn up for the books.
Oi were convinced that he were one of them.
Maybe moi vision were just a dream aaafter aaall.

Still, oi won't miss the brutish character or his little chopper.

Bein' a law-aboiding citizen moiself, oi'm roit behind our Sheriff and oi do declare a deep mistrust of the butcher. Oo in their roit moinds would be up to their elbows in raw meat aaaall day?

 

Look, maybe the hysteria of wolves is getting to you, this is potentially compromising your ability to enforce the law. As the sheriff you need to promote calm and not stir up the mob.

The way I see it is the Woodcutter was taken by the wolves. The only individuals which seem to be profiting from the wolves are one carter and the gravedigger. I vote for the Gravedigger to be lynched.

Fresh meaty steaks all round if you lynch the Gravedigger fellow!!

Old Woody shall be missed, no doubt the carter will fill the void with nice bits of wood.

(For the record I suspect the carter, Grave digger and the Sheriff to be the wolves, so If I dodge the lynch I suspect my time is soon up at the teeth of fido and rover)

Now that we've eliminated the possibility that the neer-do-well was not the traveller, the other most recent arrival in the village is then Cumber the vexsome songsmith. It's quite obvious that he must be the culprit of these foul and unnatural deeds....
