mta certs are they worth getting

    Hi are the MTA certs still worth getting, edx are offering free courses on there website just wondered if they are worth doing more for the knowledge than the certs. any help much appreciated thanks.

    I would say yes - to both... Any form of education is great. MTA certs is the foundation MS exam(s) which you have to sit an exam and prove you are who you say you are. EDx are great CPD courses, you get a Certificate of Achievement from (if you pay for it). The only thing is that while you do earn some skills from EDx, there is no way to verify that you are the one that did the final assessment. But like I said before, both are good...

    I know that this is only my opinion, but I'm basing it on about 15 years working in IT, being a CITP and IT Manager as well as being pro-education :)

    Yup, got my first job interview based on having an MTA.. it just stopped my CV going in the bin basically.
