    Hi All,

It's tradition, setting goals and then posting them; whether it's a new certificate, a new hobby/craft, visit a country you have never been to or even if it's to read that one (paper/digital) book. Maybe another member has done it and can help you, maybe you can give advice to another member :)

So at the moment, my goals of 2026 is as follows:

    1. Keep up to date with the CPD requirements of my SecurityX (CASP+) and the Cisco Cyber Ops Certifications
    2. Get my first belt in Jujitsu above white (in-conjunction with Tang Soo Do)
    3. Get my next kyu grade in Iaido (in-conjunction with Tang Soo Do)
    4. Continue training for my 5th Dan in Tang Soo Do (Karate)
    5. Lose weight, gain muscle
    6. Relax/rest more

Not alot of IT goals here for me, which is totally different from previous years, but doing something different as I'm getting older...

    So, what's yours?

    -Ken

You know I always like these posts Ken. Resonates with me I too am now focussing on personal growth over IT as I get on a bit. In 2026 I'll be very happy if I get anywhere with:
    1) Learn to play Piano. I did terribly with this last year, only a few hours spent.
    2) Continue my language studies, did great that this, every day even if it's only 5-10 minutes.
    3) Be healthier, eating, exercise, looking after myself more as I'm not getting any younger
    4) There's always something to learn in work so continue to develop on the job

What are you learning your languages on? I'm currently on Duolingo, although, I'm only doing a top-up of German every now and again, using it more to learn chess...

Just duoling here too but I'm starting to think it's time to add something else in. I'm on day 822 and the exact same, I do Spanish every day, and chess! I will have to see if I can have you a game

Good to see the CF set goals tradition lives on!

For certs I’m reading over SC-900 when I get some spare time – gone are the days I could study till late and go to work the following day. Need more sleep these days.

At work I’m aiming to move everything to the cloud this year – think retiring Active Directory and moving to Entra only will be the biggest challenge but the initial testing has gone well.

Should probably bump this thread around June\July to see how things are going.

As we approach the mid point in the year, and seeing as someone replied to this, I thought I'd see how I was doing with my goals.

    1) Learn to play Piano. I did terribly with this last year, only a few hours spent. Terrible, I've done maybe 10 hours this year!
    2) Continue my language studies, did great that this, every day even if it's only 5-10 minutes. really good, on day 963 on Duolingo but probably need to look at alternative training to mix it up, but I'll keep up my duo.
    3) Be healthier, eating, exercise, looking after myself more as I'm not getting any younger not done terrible but still not happy with my health and weight
    4) There's always something to learn in work so continue to develop on the job not bad, I'll never know enough but I'm doing reasonably well

  11. I'm launching a new service. It'll cannibalize my main business, but I think it'll be worth it. I'm already working 80 hours weeks... it'll be like this all year.
