Sorry I have just read this thread and as I got to the bottom of page one, I was saying to myself power supply. I recently had problems something similar with a motherboard but with you saying your flopppy drive light staying on made it sound like power of some sort.
But I am too late maybee next time I can help I hope as these are the type of problems that are interesting to me.

lol No worries George, thanks for your input anyway. Found out why the Floppy Drive was on anyway. I put the cable on wrong way around DUR! We Live and Learn!
