Hi all,

Finally I’ve got back on the forum. I logged in a few weeks back but needed to confirm my account. Unfortunately, the confirmation emails never arrived. So I tried again today and boom the confirmation email came through.

So, the last time I was here I was about to start a new job in the NHS and was quite chuffed. I left the forum in a huff because quite a few folk said I’d regret the move. Literally within weeks of starting the job, I was regretting it already. So those here were right and I was wrong. Nor did I have the bottle to come back and admit so.

After a few months in that job, I inherited a property in London, so packed my bags and left for a life in London. After 2 bad jobs in a row (both lasting no longer than 2 weeks) I then accidently fell into IT contracting and got a decent gig. I’ve been contracting now at various places for nearly 5 years now, although I’ve been enjoying a bit of a loooooooooong break lol.

Good to see the old names here and good to see that the new management is settling in quite well.

I was just looking at my profile and noticed I joined these here parts back in Dec 2004. I'd first heard of the place after doing the Network+ course at NITLC in Newark. I think it was 3 days and then the exam. The chap doing the course mentioned "that unofficial NITLC forum formed by some students here". After a few Google searches, I then found the forum he was on about "certforums" and joined 2 days before Xmas day 2004. However, it's important to note that there was nothing "NITLC" about the place. I think they were a bit peeved that their own closed forum was losing traffic to certforums which, at the time, happened to be mostly frequented by former and then current NITLC "students".

Oh those were the days...when I still had hair!!!!

TBH mate, I was being a d**k as I have been on this place in the past.

It was the wrong move, a huge step back which toward the end nearly involved a bit of "fisty-cuffs" out on the Hospital car park with one of the managers who took offence to me "quitting so soon"...lolz

 

Aye, the guy gave me some problems after I resigned. Nowt serious but I was glad to get away from there.

I was gonna ask if you're still at the school, you were there when I joined these here parts back in Dec 2004.
