Advice on the security of a preloaded VM

So I sourced a VM of Winserver with a few roles installed that I want to play with everything has been preconfigured so apart from adjusting the memory it was ready to go. What should I be concerned about here? It was from a random blog had good feedback on and the uploader seems like a decent human as he/she is actively helping people who run into issues. I have the VM disconnected from the net but what other precautions should I take? I dont want to build the environment due to spending 6hrs trying to get what I needed done and failing so wanted something cooked for me to save the hassle/frustration.
